Jason Smith
President, CEO
Jason Smith is President and Owner of MSmith USA headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Jason’s father, Morris Gene Smith, founded the company in 1982.
Six weeks after being born in Fort Worth, Jason was overseas with his family where he had the privilege of traveling the world for the next 15 years to follow in the footsteps of his father’s oil service career. His father was continually called upon when there were critical problems with rigs that no one else could solve. As a child, Jason remembers being told by the CEO of one of the top Oil Service Companies that his father was considered to be the walking “Bible of the Oil Industry”.
Jason studied at the University of Texas in Computer Science Engineering. With his entrepreneurial spirit combined with a passion for building things, Jason built Provence Homes and Jason Smith Custom Homes in Texas. Known for quality craftsmanship, uncompromised integrity, and the keen ability to turn dream home ideas into a functional and flawless reality, Jason quickly positioned himself as a leading luxury custom homebuilder in the DFW market. During his pinnacle of home building, he served on the board of the Certified Master Builder program.
When Jason’s father passed away from cancer in 2007, Jason did not hesitate to step in and continue his father’s legacy with MSmith while still maintaining his home building business. In 2009, Jason committed to the role full time as President & CEO of MSmith. During his tenure, he has re-vamped the company website, streamlined the ordering process for his global clients with the latest technology advances and he has diversified MSmith into the domestic market. Since 2007, Jason has increased the company’s growth over 100 percent.
Jason is a registered member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a member of several organizations including Seventh Avenue with Cook Children’s Hospital, Jewel Charity, Cancer Cares, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth and Art Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
Jason is married to Christy Dunaway Smith and they have two sons, Winn and Reed. Jason and his wife serve as board members and are instrumental in a number of social and philanthropic events that greatly benefit our local community. Some of these events are Affair of the Arts benefiting Art Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Big Black Tie and Boots Ball benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters, Fort Worth, Texas Magazine’s “Best of” Party, Neiman Marcus Anniversary Parties, Fort Worth Museum of Science & History’s Mad Scientist Ball, and A Wish with Wings Kitchen Tours.
Kelly Carpenter Mooring
Executive Director
Kelly Mooring joined MSmith USA in July of 2012. She brings a unique set of creative selling skills and relationship marketing with over a decade of professional sales and management experience in the luxury hotel industry and in the fashion publication industry.
Prior to joining our team, Kelly worked for magazine and publishing giant, Primedia Inc., and single-handedly launched an affluent lifestyle magazine in the Austin, Texas, market under the Tribeza brand. With 10 + years in sales and consulting for luxury hotels and resorts, Kelly has represented some of the world’s most famous hotel destinations.
Combining this broad foundation of professional experience with Project Management for a DFW construction company, Kelly developed a natural ability to cultivate strong consortiums and loyal relationships with our diverse MSmith International clientele. She is pivotal in negotiating corporate contracts and forming strategic partnerships with MSmith USA’s suppliers and global agents. Her personal desire for the success and advancement of our end users and her aggressive goals for our company growth have been a vibrant and vital asset to MSmith USA.
Kelly was raised in the Houston area and attended the University of Texas in Austin. She is married with a teenage stepson and an old golden retriever. She is active in her community and has volunteered, served on the board and written numerous grants for local non-profits as well as freelance writing and event planning for Couture and La Mode Dallas magazines. Kelly is an advocate member of Fort Worth Modern Art Museum and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth.
